3 Thoughts from me, 2 Quotes from others, and 1 Question to help you reflect on your work-life balance and well-being habits this week.

3 Thoughts from Me

I.

The days of putting toys together the week before the big celebration on Christmas morning are over for me.

I have many beautiful memories and pictures of staying up late at night putting all kinds of toys together when my four children were young.

II.

I sent a family text asking my four adulting children for their Christmas lists.  I was pleasantly surprised by what I received from two of them.  They wish to use their Christmas budget for an “experience” in life versus a material present.

As I questioned the one standing before me, “What do you mean by an experience in life?” She smiled and said, “Like paying for us to run a half-marathon together.  You’ve got plenty of time to train, Dad.”

III.

Whether you’re putting toys together, buying clothes, or sharing an experience with a loved one, an important thing to remember through all the hustle and bustle of the season is…enjoy the life stage where you and your loved ones are right now.

Enjoying the season begins with being mindful of all the wonderful and beautiful blessings we have in our lives.  I thank you for being a blessing in my life.  I keep your emails of gratitude and thoughts near to my heart.  I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

2 Quotes from Other

I.

“When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things, not the great occasions, give off the greatest glow of happiness.”

Bob Hope

II.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith so that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”.

 – Romans 15:13
