3 Ideas from me, 2 Quotes from others, and 1 Question to help you reflect on your work-life wellness and balance habits this week.

3 Ideas from Me

I.

Many of us have uttered the words I would’ve, could’ve, or should’ve to discover the unpleasant feelings and emotions it leaves behind. This is usually a direct result when we fail to align our daily behaviors with our priorities in life. Psychologists call this cognitive dissonance; I simply call it regret.

Regret can appear in many ways such as failing to prioritize our physical, mental, and spiritual health or our families. Unhealthy decisions and actions are usually primary, yet we also can regret significant ideas that we failed to act on.

II.

The would’ve, could’ve, and should’ve thoughts we allow to live in our minds are dangerous. If left unchecked, they can spread like cancer to warp how we feel about ourselves and behave.

Just as the best medicine for illness is prevention, let’s not give regret a place to live this year. It’s time to say “No thanks” when I would’ve, could’ve should’ve come knocking on your door.

III.

An excellent way to make this year different than last year is to shift our thinking. We can change “Would’ve to Will; Could’ve to Can, and Should’ve to Shall. Say goodbye to living in Regret-Ville and say hello to Will-Can-Shall, USA. Home of the Positive Thinkers.

Everyone living in Will-Can-Shall starts and ends their days with I will, I can, and I shall. I will make exercise a part of my life. I can choose to eat healthier beginning today. I shall tell my family I love them and show them through my actions.

2 Quotes from Others

I.

“The most important body part is the mind. With the will and know-how, you can perform near miracles. The secret of life is getting today right. Everyone can get today right, and if you can do it once you can do it repeatedly.”

~ Stuart McRobert, Bodybuilder and Writer

II.

“I believe if you keep your faith, you keep your trust, you keep the right attitude, if you’re grateful, you’ll see God open up new doors.”

– Joel Osteen, Pastor and Writer
