3 Ideas from Me

I.

“One of the main origins of Thanksgiving was a celebration of giving thanks for the blessings and bountiful harvests of the previous year. There are at least ten countries that celebrate this holiday.

As you read this newsletter, you might think about the people, events, and successes you are thankful for in 2022. On a macro level, I’m grateful for my faith, family, calling, and health. On a micro level, I could go on and on as I believe you could too.”

II.

“We often give thanks for things we’ve received or experienced. We are thankful for the people in our lives, our safety, health, our careers, our first responders, etc. I believe this aligns with our Thanksgiving Day of celebration.

Perhaps an additional means of giving thanks is to think about the people who crossed your path this year and will be thankful for you this holiday season. Be thankful for your capacity, interest, and love for others and how you’ve expressed that during the year. ”

III.

“You are reading this newsletter because our paths have crossed at some point. I am thankful to all of you who garner something useful in this email. I am grateful for the blessing of hearing and answering my calling and having opportunities to share how to enhance your work-life balance, wellness, and family relationships.

Most of you are directly or indirectly associated with the first responder community. I and millions and millions of people will be giving thanks to you for being a Thanksgiver. You are a selfless giver and we are proud of you. We honor you, love you, and pray for you. May you celebrate Thanksgiving this year with your loved ones knowing you are appreciated and honored.”

2 Quotes from Others

I.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

– John F. Kennedy, 35th U.S. President

II.

At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”

– Albert Schweitzer, Theologian
