3-2-1: Leading your family in physical, mental, and spiritual wellness

July 24, 2024

3 Ideas, 2 Quotes, and 1 Question to help you reflect on your work-life balance habits this week.

3 Ideas from Me

I.

“Our spouses and children are watching how much time and effort we put into effectively managing our physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

We are always leading by example whether or not we have been thinking about this leadership responsibility.”

II.

“Effectively managing our self-care and wellness needs might be the single greatest impact we have on the health and wellness of our children.

Our children are watching and there is a great chance they will model our behaviors.”

III.

“If we determine to adjust a behavior or two to improve our wellness and share this proclamation with our spouse and children, get ready for our families to cheer us on to victory.

“We hold the power to lead our families into greater health and wellness by choosing nutritious family meals, regularly exercising, and engaging in prayer.”

2 Quotes From Others

I.

“Your kids watch you for a living. It’s their job; it’s what they do. That’s why it’s so important to try your best to be a good role model.”

– James Lehman, MSW

II.

“There is no doubt that it is around the family and the home that all the greatest virtues, the most dominating virtues of human, are created, strengthened, and maintained.”

– Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

1 Question For You

In which areas do you see your spouse and children modeling your health and wellness behaviors and habits?

I find that when I ask myself this question, there are areas that I’m very proud of and a few that I need to tweak because I know that sooner or later, an unwanted behavior or habit might show up in one of my loved ones.

Until next week, may God bless you and your family.
