3 Thoughts from me, 2 Quotes from others, and 1 Call-to-Action Question to help you reflect on your work-life balance and well-being habits this week.

3 Ideas from Me

Can you imagine receiving yearly mental health checkups just like how we receive annual physical health exams?

Can you imagine improving constructive thinking and emotional management skills and how that would affect our lives?

Can you imagine learning to exercise our thinking processes daily to build strong pathways for healthy thought management?

Can you imagine embracing mental fitness workouts as part of our daily exercise?

Can you imagine joining a gym offering mental fitness classes and strength training?

Can you imagine how happy, healthy, productive, resilient, and peaceful our society could become when this mental fitness awakening happens?

2 Quotes from Others

“It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts.”

 – Robert H. Schuller, American Pastor

 Dr. Donnie’s Answer:

I’ve been a little off my morning routine; however, it still exists and after writing this newsletter, I’m confident it will grow in frequency.

After I pour our cups of coffee, I sit down and do the following:

  1. I spend three minutes reflecting on what I’m grateful for regarding the previous day and upcoming day.
  2. I spend three minutes in prayer.
  3. I think about the three most important things I want to accomplish that day.

After completing the above, I read scripture and several pages in a self-help book.

That’s my morning routine.  My most effective, happy, and peaceful days are when I begin each day completing all the above.
