I am always amazed at how professional gardeners can arrange flowers to bloom with such beautiful colors, shapes, and sizes. The other day, I asked a gardener, “How does one design and care for a home garden so it looks like the ones we see on commercial properties?” The gardener told me to begin with the end in mind. To envision what I want to see and experience in the garden. Once you have that planted in your mind, the rest is easy, I was told. II. With a garden vision in our minds, we simply need to follow nature’s rules of life. We must plant seeds, water, feed, prune, and weed. When we do this with our gardens, miracles happen. Seeds begin to sprout, sprouts grow stems and leaves, and the plants bloom and blossom. I have found the principles of gardening are relevant to living a balanced life. I believe we want to live a flourishing life full of blooming events, experiences, and relationships. To attain a beautiful garden in life, we must begin with seed planting. III. If you envision a beautiful, fulfilling garden of life, the self-care variety seed packet produces outstanding results. Your garden will flourish when you plant, water, and feed your physical, mental, social, and spiritual self-care seeds. The greater we care for our self-care gardens, the more fulfilled and effective we will find ourselves with our family relationships and careers. Just as our flower gardens benefit from pruning and weeding, our life gardens benefit the same. We remove all growth obstacles when we prune and weed our unwanted and unfulfilling behaviors. And when that happens, please congratulate yourself because you are balancing your blooming blossoms.
2 Quotes from OthersI. “Sow a thought, and you reap an act; Sow an act, and you reap a habit; Sow a habit and you reap a character; Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.” — Charles Reade, British Novelist II. “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.” — John 15:2
1 Question for YouDo you have any self-care seeds you want to plant or unhealthy behaviors you wish to prune? If so, how would you and your loved ones benefit?
